Default What is Mrs. Lovett's vocal range in Sweeney Todd?

I know that she's a mezzo-soprano, but I would like to know the actual lowest and highest notes that she sings.

She has a very low voice range in the movie and musical. I would say her lowest note would be a low la and highest maybe ti. But her voice is an alto.

They've transposed her vocal range several times, so the notes Angela Lansbury had to hit are different from the ones Patti Lupone had to hit.If you play Lovett, you'll have to hit a few high notes (if it's the Lansbury/original version) or go pretty low (if it's the revival/Lupone version), but for the most part, Mrs. Lovett is a dead-middle mezzo.
